The Equestrian Vessel is one of the most challenging images of this exhibition for its technical complexity and imagery. This is a 4-plate etching. Which means that is made with 4 different copper plates etched individually. Each one of the plates has been composed to act as a single color, for example: red, blue, yellow or black. For printing this piece a specific method has to be followed. Each plate has to be printed on top of the other creating a superposition of colors. Once the 4 plates have gone through the press we have a print with multiple colors that are generated by the printing process and the mixing of the inks when they are layered on the paper.
