As it is often the case with Mr. Brainwash's works, this artwork can also call for  interpretations on different levels. First, what we clearly see and what is hidden from our eyes. We try to look what is written in front of these people, to discover what they might be able to read but not us.
On a deeper level, this artwork has an intimate connection to a historical painting by Normal Rockwell. These same people are standing also in Rockwell's painting, just we are in year 1930. The difference is that on his artwork, they are reading, with such great curiosity, the Stock Exchange Quotations! The artwork was published as the cover of the Saturday Evening Post, on the 18th of January, 1930. Beside illustrating perfectly the anxiety about reading the news of the Stock Exchange in 1930, - for obvious reasons -, some years later, the painting created another excitement. All these folks on the picture seem perfectly normal until one takes a closer look and notices that the hand of the young man in the red shirt resting on his leg, seems off. You look a bit closer, and can see, he has basically three legs. Ever since, he has been called the "three-legged man".

Considering this historical retrospective, this adds one more level of meaning to the "Meaning of Life" - and a wink by Mr. Brainwash.
