Forest Gaze is a piece that speaks about the interconnectivity of the natural world. How forests and jungles function as infinite webs that are related through the planet and the cosmos. The image is conjured by the weaving of animal species and botanical motives through the composition. The formal and technical aspects of the print make it a clear example of the mastering of the craft. The drawing approach at times working in the microcosms of the plate also expands to gestural marks that become plants. A real feeling of flow and transmutation is projected from the print. The alchemical hints of the acids required to etch the plate permeate the whole image with a mystical feeling that penetrates the viewer through the Forest Gaze.
